This Weekend, Do Something Uniquely Texan with the Fort Worth Herd

Watch as the Old West comes to life before your eyes during the only twice-daily cattle drive in the world, presented by the Fort Worth Herd. Real Texas cowhands drive a herd of Texas longhorns down East Exchange Avenue in the Stockyards National Historic District every day at 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Check it out this Saturday!

Every detail of the cattle drive—from the saddles and chaps to the boots and hats – is authentic and historically true. The Cattle Drive travels through the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards on East Exchange Avenue in front of the Livestock Exchange Building and then back to the holding pens behind the Livestock Exchange Building for viewing.

Experience life on the trail first-hand during the Behind the Scenes with The Fort Worth Herd at 1:30 p.m. This free, interactive program allows adults and children a hands-on experience with tools used during the Cattle Drive Era. Activities include grooming and saddling a horse, roping, branding, chuckwagon stories, photo opportunities, and cattle drive demos.

Enjoy a day of true Texan culture when you see the Fort Worth Herd this Saturday, July 27th. The Fort Worth Herd Trail Boss determines drive cancelations due to inclement weather and necessary onsite changes. For more information about this must-see event, head to www.fortworth.com/the-herd.

Although we provide the utmost luxury at The Depot Apartments in Fort Worth, Texas, we realize that you need to get out and socialize with those in your surrounding community. This event gives you the chance to do just that! Don’t hesitate to attend today!
