The Demon Barber of Fleet Street Reigns Terror on the Circle Theatre of Fort Worth
Circle Theatre is an established regional theatre in Fort Worth dedicated to presenting professional, innovative theatre in an intimate space. Founded in 1981 by Rose Pearson and Bill Newberry, Circle has premiered over 130 plays to the city in its 36 seasons.
The Theatre’s name is derived from its original location on Bluebonnet Circle. An interim move to Fort Worth’s historic Southside took place in 1987. Seven years later, Circle renovated and moved into its present home, the basement space of the Sanger Building in Fort Worth’s Sundance Square entertainment district. Patrons enjoy the Theatre’s cozy atmosphere and often comment on the added benefit of being close to the action on the 125-seat thrust stage.
Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd is a heart-pounding, musical thriller set on the seedy side streets of 19th century London. Filled with diabolical humor and extraordinary music, this eight-time Tony Award-winning musical tells the tale of an exiled barber's quest to avenge the wrongs done to him and his family by a lecherous judge.
Performances take place on Thursdays at 7:30 PM, Fridays at 8:00 PM, and Saturdays at 3:00 PM and 8:00PM. There will be no performance on Thursday, July 4th. Instead, there will be a hooky matinee on Wednesday, July 3rd at 3:00pm.
