The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth is dedicated to collecting, presenting, and interpreting international developments in the post–World War II art in all media and creating a welcoming environment for its public appreciation. This summer, the museum is presenting the Magnolia at the Modern series!
Magnolia at the Modern is an ongoing series featuring critically acclaimed films. On Friday, August 30th, Magnolia at the Modern will feature a screening of After the Wedding. The plot of the film focuses on the manager of an orphanage in Calcutta, who travels to New York to meet a benefactor. This English-language movie is a remake of the 2006 Danish film.
Isabel has dedicated her life to working with the children in an orphanage in Calcutta. Theresa is the multimillionaire head of a media company who lives with her artist husband and their twin boys in New York. When word comes to Isabel of a mysterious and generous grant for the financially struggling orphanage, she must travel to New York to meet the benefactor in person.
After the Wedding is rated PG-13. Tickets are $10; $8 for Modern members; $7 for Reel People. Advance sales begin two hours prior to each show at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
