Corporate Employees Recreational Association (CERA) Pottery Studio is proud to present the 17th annual arts festival, Pottery in the Park, which brings a variety of artists to the banks of the Trinity River. The free event features more than 50 artists offering handcrafted items, as well as live music by Herb Milton and Christine Hand. Not to mention, the Pottery in the Park sale is back! Don’t miss it this Saturday, October 5th beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Pottery is loved by many as an outlet for expressing creativity and developing artistic skills, as well as for the therapeutic benefits widely believed to come from sitting at the potter’s wheel. In addition to its general public appeal, pottery is often used with seniors, mental health, and other at-risk populations to promote cognitive, emotional, social, and physical health.
The CERA Pottery Studio is the only full-service pottery studio in greater Fort Worth and provides a cost-effective way to improve your pottery skills. It’s also a slower-paced activity offered to associates that still contributes to overall health and enjoyment.
At Pottery in the Park, visitors are invited to tour the Pottery Studio, glaze a piece of pottery and watch as it’s being raku fired to take home. Watch wheel throwing demonstrations, participate in a raffle for a piece of art created by one of CERA’s resident artists, and even sign up for classes. Sweet treats will be available at CERA’s popular bake sale. Proceeds from the festival help support local art at the studio.
The Pottery Studio shares this event with the CERA Gem and Mineral Club. Admission and parking are free. Be sure to bring plenty of cash for the on-site vendors as well as food and beverages. For more information, visit www.cera-fw.org.
