After Triumphant Wins on the Vocal Competition Circuit, Angela Meade Returns to Fort Worth

Since its debut in 1985, the McCammon Voice Competition has grown into one of the world's most important operatic events. Every two years the contest showcases the most compelling young singers of our time. The McCammon Voice Competition in collaboration with Fort Worth Opera will present Angela Meade in recital.

This intimate concert marks the eagerly-anticipated return of this world-renowned soprano to Fort Worth after winning first prize in the 2005 McCammon Voice Competition. Ms. Meade will be accompanied on piano by Fort Worth Opera Artistic Director and Conductor, Joe Illick. Hailed as “the most talked about soprano of her generation” (Opera News), opera superstar Angela Meade takes a break from the opera stage to make her Fort Worth Opera Festival concert debut.

Angela Meade has triumphed in an astounding number of vocal competitions: 57 in all, including first prize at the 2008 McCammon Voice Competition, Metropolitan Opera’s 2012 Beverly Sills Artist Award and the 2011 Richard Tucker Award. The evening’s diverse program will consist of celebrated arias and art songs by Bellini, Meyerbeer, Korngold, and Strauss.

General admission tickets are $45. Tickets can be purchased online at https://www.fwopera.org or by calling 817-731-0726. We hope that you bring your friends for a charming evening with Angela Meade!
