Brush Up on Your French! This Parisian Music Festival Comes to Town on Saturday
No ticket to Paris? No problem! Experience that Parisian way of life during this year’s Cliburn Festival: Iconic Paris. On Saturday, February 16th, join an array of talented musicians for an evening of romantic tunes designed to celebrate French culture and heritage.
In the early 20th-century, Paris experienced a Golden Age, becoming a center of intellectualism, art, politics, and innovation. It saw the opening of the World Fair, the construction of the Eiffel Tower, the perfection of champagne, major advancements in film, aviation, and medicine, and the ideal environment for artists to flourish: painters from Matisse to Picasso, and a generation of composers who, living in Paris, ushered in the new era of Modernism.
A stellar group of artists-in-residence take us on a journey through one of the most inspired times in musical history. The 2019 Cliburn Festival will present works by Saint-Saëns, Stravinsky, Debussy, Ravel, Fauré, Franck and more. Featured pianists will include Dasol Kim, Louis Schwizgebel, and Joyce Yang. The Rolston String Quartet will also be in attendance.
Transport your soul to a beautiful French setting when you take part in the 2019 Cliburn Festival! Tickets range from $20 to $50 and may be purchased online at www.cliburn.org.
